  • Set-up, calibration, utilization, and data processing of various design and optimization equipment and software tools(i.e. ATOLL, ASSET, PlanetEV, Accuver XCAL/XCAP, ASCOM TEMS, DATAPro, Actix, Windcatcher);
  • Perform site candidate evaluation and selection. Support leasing/zoning teams (i.e. finalize/review radio frequency affidavits and documentations);
  • Work with common industry propagation software tools (i.e. PlanetEV, ATOLL, Asset, EDX, etc.) for model calibration, drive test data post-processing, map generation, frequency planning and interference matrix analysis, site database maintenance, etc.;
  • Verify radio frequency related site engineering drawings;
  • Perform complex design and system dimensioning, link budget and traffic analysis;
  • Perform frequency and Base Station Common Control (BCC) planning. Use equipment for co-location requirements of multiple operators and perform inter-modulation analysis;
  • Prepare system topology and air interface parameters for technologies such as: Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM)/General Packet Radio Services (GPRS), Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)/Evolution-Data Optimized or Evolution-Data Only (EvDO), Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA)/Universal Mode Telecommunications System (UMTS), Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN) and Long Term Evolution (LTE);
  • Work with main equipment vendors like Nokia Siemens (NSN), Ericsson, Alcatel Lucent and Huawei;
  • Create and validate frequency plans for large clusters of sites;
  • Handle neighbor audits and analysis for extensive areas/dual band/dual vendor systems;
  • Analyze Base Station Subsystem (BSS) reports to determine network performance and recommend related fixes (i.e. path balance, timing advance, hardware issues, etc.);
  • Carry out optimization techniques (proper antenna selection for optimal horizontal/vertical performance, mechanical/electrical tilting, appropriate transmit power setting, antenna clearance, neighbor list analysis, etc.) for optimal site/cluster performance;
  • Analyze network parameters and implementation of system changes for network optimization of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  • Generate radio frequency engineering related reports/presentations in Excel, Powerpoint, Access, SQL as required. Lead, manage and co-ordinate activities of the radio frequency team;
  • Assist to define processes and procedures for radio frequency engineering tasks;
  • Communicate radio frequency team budget, milestones and deliverables to project management and implement plans to accomplish the milestones within budget, as required;
  • Suggest in-house software tools (i.e. OptPCS, NetRescue and iCE.) to assist in the analysis and troubleshooting of wireless networks;
  • Attend meetings at clients' sites to discuss project initiation, progress, scheduling, deliverables, and project close out;
  • Relocate to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. based on client projects.
  • Mastor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering, or Communication Engineering, or Computer Science, or closely related degree. Alternate Requirement: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering, or Communication Engineering, or Computer Science or closely related deg plus 24 months experience in job offered or as Network Consultant, RF Consultant, Associate Engineer or closely related position.
